I was born in the 1980s into a humble family, where my fascination with science and spirituality grew side by side. My earliest lessons in puja rituals came from watching my grandfather and father, both of whom approached each ceremony with care and devotion, never rushing through, and always teaching that a calm and focused mind is paramount. After my upanayana ceremony, I began assisting my father, learning that sincere devotion matters far more than the number of rituals or materials—if the heart is present, the puja is successful.
My academic journey began with a deep passion for science. I earned my Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Calcutta University, which opened the door for me to move to the United States for further research and learning. I completed a six-year postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and currently serve as a senior researcher in Boston College’s Biology Department. Teaching is another passion—I have mentored college and university students in India and continue to enjoy sharing knowledge here in Boston.
I am grateful to have helped families in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts maintain their traditions, and I cherish my association with "Bengali Association of RI" and "Bangla O Biswa". My mission is to help every Hindu and Bengali family in Boston and New England feel truly at home here, allowing them to celebrate milestones and rituals exactly as they would in their own city or village in India. Each ceremony I perform is a heartfelt effort to ensure that our culture and connections remain vibrant and meaningful, wherever life takes us.
